The cleanest Big Walk puzzle route is Opening Area and Drawbridge, then Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, and Black Towers, followed by the Black Sphere and first ending. The main route uses 30 puzzle rewards: four in the opening area, five for each colored tower, and six for Black Tower. Full completion continues in the same save with remaining challenges and seven post-game purple puzzles.

  1. Complete the four Opening Area challenges and lower the Drawbridge.
  2. Collect five compatible puzzle rewards for Red Tower to unlock the Map Room route.
  3. Collect five compatible puzzle rewards for Green Tower to activate the Chairlift.
  4. Collect five compatible puzzle rewards for Yellow Tower to open the tunnel network.
  5. Collect five compatible puzzle rewards for Blue Tower to activate the island’s trains.
  6. After Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue Towers are complete and the Black Tower door opens, finish six Black Tower puzzles and open the route beyond the wall.
  7. Complete the Black Sphere sequence and reach the first ending.
  8. Return to the same save for remaining normal and post-game purple puzzles.

Community documentation reports 45 challenges tied to full completion: 30 rewards on the main progression route, eight additional red-gourd challenges, and seven post-game purple puzzles. Because the game does not formally name most challenges and updates can affect completion tracking, this page remains marked Bounded.

Main-Route Puzzle Index

The names below are descriptive community labels, not guaranteed in-game quest names. For the four colored towers, the listed challenges are convenient nearby examples rather than a mandatory fixed set: current community documentation reports that their red puzzle rewards are interchangeable. Use the visible location and mechanic to identify a challenge when another guide uses a different name.

Opening Area and Drawbridge

The first four challenges teach the game’s core language: copying patterns between separated rooms, coordinating simultaneous switches, using other players to reach an interaction, and relaying information between distant positions.

Collect all four opening rewards and place them into the nearby structure. Take the released key through the sequence of key-cutting machines, then use the completed key to lower the Drawbridge and reach the main island.

Red Tower and Map Room

Make the Red Tower your first major tower. Complete five nearby challenges, place their rewards into the tower, collect the red key, and follow its key-cutting route. The resulting unlock leads to the Map Room, which provides the portable coordinate map used by later searches.

The Big Walk Map Guide covers the navigation tools. For the distant coordinate challenge, use the dedicated 4166 Puzzle Solution.

Green Tower and Chairlift

The Green Tower route emphasizes indirect communication and puzzles where players cannot simply stand together and read the same clue. Complete five suitable challenges, deposit their rewards, then finish the green key route to activate the Chairlift.

If a search result or video calls this the “Green Puzzle,” it may refer to the entire tower route rather than one formally named challenge. Use the Green Tower Puzzle Guide for that focused route.

Yellow Tower and Tunnels

The Yellow Tower progression opens the island’s major underground tunnel network. As with the other colored towers, gather five puzzle rewards, place them into the tower, shape the released key, and use it at the associated access point.

The tunnels shorten later travel and contain optional discoveries, so unlocking them before cleanup is more efficient than saving the entire route for the end.

Blue Tower and Trains

Completing the Blue Tower activates the railway system. Gather five rewards, finish the blue key-cutting route, and use the key at the train access point. The trains then provide another fast-travel option between distant regions.

The Green Chairlift is convenient for reaching this part of the island, but the cited walkthrough does not treat Green Tower completion as a strict prerequisite for Blue Tower.

Black Tower and Black Sphere

Black Tower remains locked until Red, Green, Yellow, and Blue Tower progression is complete. Once the door opens, finish six Black Tower challenges and use the completed black key to open the wall leading toward the enormous Black Sphere. The sphere contains a final sequence of cooperative communication puzzles before the normal ending.

Keep the same host throughout this route. World progress belongs to the host save, and the post-game state remains in that world after the first ending.

Post-Game and Full Completion

Re-enter the existing save after the first ending. Community walkthroughs report that seven purple puzzles become available as part of the full-completion route, alongside any remaining normal challenges. You do not need all 45 reported challenges merely to see the first ending.

Treat exact completion totals as community-verified rather than official. If an expected puzzle does not register after an update, check the current version history and revisit the relevant region before assuming the save is broken.
